Questions, answered
MKFrames prints and frames photos from ₦8,000, and makes word portraits — your photo drawn in your words — from ₦15,000, ready in 2–3 working days. You see the frame (or a proof) before we print, pay online by card or bank transfer (delivery included) or order on WhatsApp, and a dispatch rider delivers in Lagos, Abuja or Ondo — or pick up free in Abuja.
Ordering
How long does a custom frame take?
Standard production takes 2–3 working days after payment, or 24 hours with rush production (₦5,000) when the studio has capacity. Word portraits start once you approve the proof, which we usually send within a working day. Delivery then adds about one working day in Lagos and Abuja and about two in Ondo State.
Can I order on WhatsApp instead of the website?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp at +234 810 368 3453 with your photo (sent as a document so it stays sharp), the size, frame colour and, for a word portrait, your words. We reply with an invoice, send a design proof, and print once you approve. You can also build your frame on the site and tap "Order on WhatsApp" to send us the details.
Which frame size should I choose?
For a desk or bedside table choose 8×10; for a hallway 12×16; for a living room above a console 16×20, our most popular gift size; and above a sofa or bed 20×30 or 24×36. Word portraits read best from 16×20 up. The size guide shows every size to scale next to real furniture.
Do I need an account to order?
No. Checkout is guest-only: you give a phone number and email for updates. Track your order any time with the order number and the phone number you used.
Can I change the words or size after ordering?
Yes, until production starts. For word portraits, ask for changes on the proof. Otherwise message us on WhatsApp with your order number and the change. Once a frame is in production it cannot be changed.
Do you take bulk or corporate orders?
Yes. Add several frames to one order on the site, or message us on WhatsApp with your list for staff awards, retirements, churches, schools or events. We can send an invoice for company orders.
Do you frame certificates, paintings and posters?
Yes. Besides photo frames ordered on this site, the studio frames certificates, paintings, posters and canvas art. Message us on WhatsApp with the item and its size for a quote.
Prices and payment
How much is a 16×20 frame in Lagos?
A basic 16×20 portrait frame is ₦15,000 and a 16×20 word portrait (custom text frame) is ₦30,000, including the print. Black and white frames cost the same; gold adds ₦0, and natural wood or silver adds ₦0. Delivery in Lagos depends on your area — the Mainland costs less than the Island and Lekki–Ajah — and is shown at checkout.
How do I pay?
Pay online by card or bank transfer through Bachs, our secure payment partner; the frames and delivery are paid together. Your order is confirmed once the payment is verified, and you get the order number and a tracking link by email. If you order on WhatsApp instead, we send an invoice to pay.
How much does a picture frame cost at MKFrames?
Basic portrait frames cost from ₦8,000 (8×10) to ₦120,000 (48×72), and word portraits (custom text frames) from ₦15,000 (8×10) to ₦200,000 (48×72), including the print. Gold frames add ₦0; natural wood and silver add ₦0. Rush production is ₦5,000.
Photos and design
What photo size do I need for a 24×36 frame?
For a sharp 24×36 print, upload at least 4800 × 7200 pixels (200 pixels per inch). The builder checks your photo against every size and disables the sizes it is too small for. Send the original from your camera roll, not a WhatsApp copy.
Can I see the frame before I pay?
Yes. For a basic frame the preview shows exactly what we print: your photo at the chosen size and frame colour, plus a to-scale view on a wall next to a sofa, bed or desk. For a word portrait the preview shows the idea; our designer then sends you a proof, and we print only after you approve it.
What is a custom text frame?
A custom text frame is a word portrait: your photo recreated entirely from words you choose — names, prayers, birthday wishes, a love letter or a leader's qualities — with an optional name plate for a name and a title or date. You upload the photo and type the words; our designer makes the portrait and sends you a proof to approve.
How does the proof work for word portraits?
After you pay, our designer makes your word portrait and sends a link to the proof by WhatsApp and email, usually within a working day. Open it on your phone and tap Approve, or ask for changes and say what to change. We start printing only after you approve.
Can I use a photo sent on WhatsApp?
Only for small frames. WhatsApp shrinks photos to about 1600 pixels, which prints sharp up to 8×10. For bigger frames, ask the person who took the photo to send the original file, or send it on WhatsApp as a document so it is not compressed.
Can I write names in Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa?
Yes. Your words and the name plate print Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa characters such as ẹ, ọ, ṣ and ń, so names appear exactly as you type them. Check them on the proof before you approve.
Which frame colours do you have?
Black, white, gold, natural wood and silver. Black and white are included in the price; gold adds ₦0, and natural wood or silver adds ₦0 at any size.
Delivery and pickup
Where does MKFrames deliver?
MKFrames delivers across Lagos, Abuja and Ondo State by dispatch rider, usually Bolt, and you can pick up free from the studio at UTC, Area 10, Garki, Abuja. For other states, message us on WhatsApp and we will arrange a courier.
How much is delivery and when do I pay for it?
Delivery is charged by area: you choose your area at checkout and see the fee before you pay, and it is one fee per order, however many frames. Orders with a 36×48 or 48×72 frame go by car. You pay it with your order, so there is nothing to pay the rider. Pickup from the studio is free; the delivery page lists every area's fee.
Can I pick up my frame?
Yes. Choose pickup at checkout and collect from the MKFrames studio at UTC, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. We message you when your frame is ready.
After delivery
What if my frame arrives damaged or wrong?
Check your frame before the rider leaves (or at pickup) and message us on WhatsApp straight away with photos and your order number. We replace or reprint free of charge when the fault is ours — the frame doesn't match the preview or proof you approved, it has a production or packing defect, or it was damaged on the way to you. We can't replace frames for a change of mind, words you approved, or damage after delivery.

The MKFrames studio is at UTC, Area 10, Garki, Abuja 900103, open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. Call or WhatsApp +234 810 368 3453.
